On the High Energy Behaviour of The Total Cross Section in the QCD Dipole Model

چکیده

In this paper we perform a numerical study of the tranverse expansion of hadronic scattering amplitudes in high energy QCD, by using the dipole picture. We go beyond the mean field approximation by including fluctuations and also wave function saturation effects, and the evolution with both a fixed and a running coupling is investigated. We also study the nonperturbative aspects, and as has been predicted earlier, our results indicate that the Froissart-Martin bound is saturated once confinement effects are included in the evolution. Thus the total cross section increases proportional to the square of the logarithm of the cms energy. Furthermore it is seen that we obtain a reasonable value for the proportionality coefficient. The impact of saturation and non-leading effects on this coefficient is also studied.

QCD Saturation and γ∗-γ∗ Scattering

Two photon collisions at high energy have an important theoretical advantage: the simplicity of the initial state, which gives us a unique opportunity to calculate these processes for large virtualities of both photons in perturbative QCD approach. In this paper we study QCD saturation in two photon collisions in the framework of the Glauber-Mueller approach. The Glauber-Mueller formula is deri...

The role of electroweak penguin and magnetic dipole QCD penguin on hadronic b Quark Decays

This research, works with the effective Hamiltonian and the quark model. Using, the decay rates of matter-antimatter of b quark was investigated. We described the effective Hamiltonian theory which was applied to the calculation of current-current (Q1,2), QCD penguin (Q3,…,6), magnetic dipole (Q8) and electroweak penguin (Q7,…,10) decay rates. The gluonic penguin structure of hadronic decays ...

A Modification of the Saturation Model: DGLAP Evolution

We propose to modify the saturation model of Golec-Biernat and Wüsthoff by including DGLAP evolution. We find considerable improvement for the total deep inelastic cross section, in particular in the large Q region. The successful description of DIS diffraction is preserved. The saturation model [1, 2, 3] has provided a successful description of HERA deep inelastic scattering data, in particula...

Calculation of the total cross section for the ionization of H, He, Ne and Ar atoms by bare ions at the high energy range

In the present work, the total cross-section for the ionization of  H, He, Ne and Ar atoms by +He2+ ، H+ ، Li3 ions has been calculated. In these calculations, a binary encounter approximation in the form of a two-body process between projectile ions and atomic electrons at the high energy range has been implemented. In order to enter the nuclear role of the target atom, the atomic electron vel...

Diffraction at small M 2 / Q 2 in the QCD dipole picture

Using the QCD dipole picture of BFKL dynamics, the quasi elastic component of the diffractive γ∗-dipole cross-section, dominating at small M2/Q2, is calculated. 1. Diffraction dissociation of virtual photons, a process being on the border line between the perturbative and non-perturbative regions, represents a challenging problem for Quantum Chromodynamics [1]. It is therefore of no surprise th...
